5-               SECTION 5-Componet parts of a machine with complete description of each., together with detailed instructions covering adjustment, care and replacement.

6-                SECTION 6-Lubrication- Complete chart of machine with description of kind and quality of oil or grease to be used, frequency of application. Every bearing and member of the apparatus is covered in this section.

7-                SECTION 7-Learning to Drive- Directions fully cover the use of all levers and pedals, increasing and decreasing motor power and speed, changing gears, use of brakes, starting, skidding, ect.

8-                SECTION 8- Detailed instructions relative to the operation of all types of apparatus; the proper way to handle pumping cars, aerial trucks, chemical engines and water towers are fully described and illustrated. Nozzle sizes and pump pressure tables.

9-                SECTION 9- Troubles- Their symptoms and remedies. All such as related to the chassis in general are noted; those peculiar to the fire pump will be found in Section 8.

10-           SECTION 10- The importance of systematic and thorough inspection- The manufacturer’s responsibility is fully outlined, together with the proper daily, weekly and monthly routine.

11-           SECTION11- Instruction and fire drills-This section embodies suggestions for the thorough training and education of the men of a department.

12-           SECTION 12- Ordering Parts- The proper way to make out and forword requisitions for material so as to avoid errors and loss time. Proper way to use the parts book. 

13-          SECTION13- Appendix- Including directions pertaining to important features peculiar to older types of apparatus.
